Adventure Expeditions

The Adventure  Expedition mirrors our Semester program but it is condensed from 80-90 to 45 days.  By shortening the program we can take advantage of the fleeting Alaskan summer and make the Wildwind experience accessible to people who are unable to commit to the semester long program.  

We travel to a place of unrivaled beauty and adventure.  This will be a life changing opportunity for you to experience wilderness first hand in a way that is not possible anywhere else on earth. You will come away with a new appreciation of the awesome power and fragile nature of life on our planet and will have the chance to experience something totally unique.    

We will meet you at the airport and get started.  

After meeting we will spend a few days learning not only the skills needed to thrive in the wild environments we will be in but also some  team building and a certification course in Wilderness First Aid.  We will also allow you to acclimate and get used to the unique wilderness conditions. 

Then we head out!  our adventures are compartmentalized into a series of 5-10 day activities.  In between we will resupply, rest and travel to the next adventure.  This way we can maximize our experience and transition from one thing to the next.

 Here at Wildwind we think that direct meaningful human contact is the best way to help you get ready for your trip.  After your application is excepted, one of our highly experienced trip leaders will reach out to you to answer any questions you may have, provide you with detailed packing lists,and help you prepare for your adventure.  An Alaska Expedition is a large commitment and we want to be sure that you are ready and comfortable before you even begin.   

We will end the trip much the same way we began it at the airport.  We say our goodbyes and then we send you back to your family and friends. But your Wildwind connection will not end there.  You will not only have grown and changed from your time with us, you will have developed life long friendships, become part of a new community and you will be part of our alumni network people just like you who have experienced the value of Wildwind and want to connect with others.
